Renters Guide: The San Antonio Renterzine is a 36-page manual with essential information for renters. There are a variety of topics including leasing tips, fair housing laws, eviction prevention information, and rental assistance programs.
RentWise SA Events: Attend a free public information sessions for renters in San Antonio to learn about essential rights, resources, and responsibilities. Or, access the presentation if you are unable to attend.
The Eviction Process and What You Need to Know: Learn about the steps of an eviction and what you can do to prevent being evicted. The City of San Antonio has also prepared a video explaining this process.
Rental Assistance Program: The Rental Assistance Program helps keep families in their homes. The Program provides financial assistance to renters experiencing financial hardship. The Program has two different services for qualified households facing housing instability: rental assistance or relocation assistance.
Landlord and Tenant Mediation Program: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Certified housing counselors are trained to resolve disputes between residential tenants and landlords - free of charge.

When governments talk about what is ''affordable'' for a person or family, they often use the term ''AMI.'' Knowing your AMI is important because it's tied to many affordable housing programs. AMI is based on your family's total income before taxes, including all sources of income. When you know your AMI, you can find out which housing options you may qualify for.
HousingBase: Housing Base is a website for people in San Antonio to search and locate affordable housing in our community. It is a free digital resource that connects people to homes that are affordable. Housing Base is available in both English and Spanish.
